DA will continue to promote non-racism, improving the lives of the underprivileged

CAPE TOWN – Democratic Alliance (DA) federal council chair Helen Zille said Monday the party will continue to focus on promoting non-racism and improving the lives of the underprivileged.

Party leaders provided an update on the policies adopted during their virtual political conference over the weekend.

Zille said they were also prioritizing cutting “red tape” that hindered business opportunities.

“I believe that no government on this continent has done more to help the poor and disadvantaged [people], especially the children to have access to the networks because we put broadband in all the schools, except in some remote and remote rural schools for which we made alternative arrangements, ”he said.

Zille emphasized that the party always practiced accountability.

“Most of the bureaucratic procedures are the finance or Treasury directives of the national government, which tried to stop corruption but never seem to do so in the ANC governments. All they do is create more red tape for the DA government to get through. Our governments are clean. Obviously, there are human beings in them and sometimes there is corruption, but we practice responsibility and people must be held accountable, ”Zille said.

The DA maintains that the country’s economic policy under the governance of the African National Congress (ANC) impeded growth capacity and blocked more South Africans from accessing jobs in the labor market.

According to the party, current laws target the elites rather than their proposals that target the vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Regarding its political hot potato, the role of race in the economy, the DA believes the common justification for using quotas or demographic targets is broken.

Instead, he advocates for equality and recognizes that not everyone has a fair chance in life.
