Manchester United’s search for Jadon Sancho has stalled, but the Red Devils may have found a solution.
The England star is United’s main target as they look for a new right winger, but they are unwilling to live up to Borussia Dortmund’s £ 100 million valuation in the current climate.
They are willing to put the persecution of Sancho on hold until next summer.
The situation is similar to the persecution of Leroy Sane by Bayern Munich, whom they could not get for the right price last summer before reaching a deal 12 months later.
And, according to the Manchester Evening News, United could take inspiration from the Champions League winners and their handling of that situation.
Instead of signing Sane for an inflated fee last summer, the German club acquired Philippe Coutinho on loan for the entire season.
The Brazilian helped the club win the treble, including Champions League glory last month, but they decided not to make the move permanent.
Instead, they went back and got their man with Sane to sign a long-term contract with the club 12 months later than they expected.
United could now take the same approach Bayern took with Coutinho in finding a temporary solution, either on loan or for a reduced fee.
Ivan Perisic, a former transfer target with José Mourinho, who was also on loan to Bayern last year, is said to be an option.
Coutinho is also on the market, but another loan appears less likely after he returned to Barcelona in hopes of proving himself with new coach Ronald Koeman.
David Brooks has also been considered but, like Jack Grealish, is expected to come at a high price.

As a result, the Red Devils might have to look further and find a less orthodox solution like Bayern did when they landed Coutinho in a daring raid just before the season began.
If they are left empty, then they can decide to bite the bullet and splash Sancho this summer even for a huge fee.
