Bidvest Ingenuity coach Gavin hunt I was delighted to finish the Premiership Absa 2019/20 the season on a positive note given an uncertain future for both him and the club.
Hunt led his team to one final victory and fourth place in the league standings before they ceased to exist in their current guise, with a close 3-1 loss to Polokwane City at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Wits will be relocating to Limpopo before next season and will be renamed Tshakhuma Tsha Mandzivadhila, leaving Hunt out of a job.
However, the serial league winner is delighted with the legacy he has left after seven years at the helm of the club.
Hunt told Soccer Laduma: “It was a great way to finish, I think we finished fourth, which is great with what we have. It’s fantastic! I’m very proud of the players and the club.
“When a coach leaves you always think you want to leave him in a better place than when you arrived, but that is not going to be it.
“I want to be remembered for giving players lots of opportunities and most importantly, I want to be remembered for winning the league, that’s something you can never take off.”
Hunt won the Telkom Knockout, MTN8 and the Absa Premiership title with Bidvest Wits.
