The league has not yet conducted the official draw, but the procedure remains the same and the teams already know who they will face next season.
The matchups for the MTN8 2020-21 competition were confirmed on Saturday after the completion of the 2019-20 season.
As has been the case last season, teams that finished in the top four will enjoy home-field advantage and will be seeded, meaning they will play terms that finished outside of the top four.
Mamelodi Sundowns successfully outpointed Kaizer Chiefs and won the championship – their third straight league title and the 10th since the start of the PSL.
The Brazilians will play Bloemfontein Celtic, who finished eighth on the record.
Kaizer Chiefs finished second behind the Tshwane giants and will therefore play Maritzburg United, who finished seventh on the PSL record.
The Orlando Pirates did their best since Josef Zinnbauer arrived in December 2019 by finishing third and qualifying for the Caf Confederation Cup.
They will then face Cape Town City, who finished sixth on the record after their tough campaign.
The Citizens were scrapped by many following the firing of Benni McCarthy in 2019, but Jan Olde Riekerink saved the campaign and ended respectable despite criticism from many soccer fans in South Africa.
Lastly, Bidvest Wits secured fourth place but will not exist beyond the current season after selling their PSL status to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) owner Masala Mulaudzi.
This means that TTM will campaign on MTN8 in its first season in the top flight and will face SuperSport United.
With the 2020-21 season scheduled to begin the weekend of October 9-10, the season is expected to kick off with the MTN8 taking center stage.
The official MTN8 giveaway and launch are expected to take place sometime this month, with dates and locations to be announced at a later stage.
MTN8 remains the richest Cup competition in South Africa, with eventual winners pocketing R8 million in prizes.
The Chiefs remain the only team to win it 15 times, a record that has yet to be equaled by any team in the history of South African soccer.
