Manchester United are prepared to abandon a deal to sign Jadon Sancho due to unrealistic demands from Borussia Dortmund, according to a report from England.
Website ESPN, as quoted by the Daily Star, reports that Manchester United will not collect a ransom for a deal with the England international this summer.
The same article claims that Manchester United have been working on a deal to sign the 20-year-old attacking midfielder before the start of the new Premier League season.
According to the same story, Borussia Dortmund is refusing to back down on its £ 110 million asking price for Sancho despite the financial impact of the coronavirus.
The report goes on to say that the Bundesliga team is unlikely to back down on price given that Sancho has three years left to execute his current contract at the Westfalenstadion.
ESPN Go on to state that Manchester United are increasingly frustrated by Borussia Dortmund’s stance throughout the summer with regard to negotiating the sale of Sancho.
Sancho scored 17 goals and had 16 assists in the Bundesliga last season to help Borussia Dortmund challenge Bayern Munich for the German top flight title last season.
The former Manchester City youth star has scored 34 goals in 99 games in all of his career Dortmund competitions so far.
Manchester United have only signed Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek in a £ 40m deal with Ajax in a frustrating summer transfer window for the Red Devils so far.
Solskjaer’s side will kick off the new Premier League campaign with a home game against Crystal Palace on Saturday 19 September.
