Who is excited for Mikel Arteta to win more trophies this season?

Great signings, signs of great things to come By Lagos Gooner

Hello Arsenal family. I think we are all looking forward to the start of another season as prime minister; especially with the few new and exciting players we now have at the club. With Willian and Gabriel on board, I am convinced that next season will be better than this one. If you made a bold prediction and said that we can shock the world and win first place next season, would you be saying what we think?

When Mikel Arteta was appointed Arsenal manager, I must confess that I was one of those who believed that I was not going to do better than the previous manager. But right now, what do I believe in? I firmly believe that with the right set of players needed to fit into Arteta’s style of play, he would deliver a trophy bigger than the FA Cup next season. I won’t be surprised if we win the Europa League next season or even the Premier League! Woohoo!

I am so excited because I love the type of players we just acquired at the club. Tell me an Arsenal fan who won’t be thrilled to see that the club actually spends money to fix our defense, right? Towards the end of last season, I noticed how Mikel had managed to transform our players into fighters. If you ask me to name a player who really impressed me towards the end of last season, I would gladly mention David Luiz. Yes, you read me right.

David Luiz was so impressive that not a few Arsenal fans were happy to see him come out of our FA Cup final match against Chelsea, before the final whistle. I personally kept praying for the game to start and end. But that’s already the past! We win the game and that’s all that matters.

So what do I expect next season? I hope to see an Arsenal team recover from where they left off last season. An Arsenal team that would start to strike fear into the spines of rival teams, especially the Emirates. Finally, I hope to see an Arsenal team qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season, while leading it with a trophy bigger than the FA Cup. Don’t get me wrong, I love the FA Cup but I think we have won the FA Cup; we have to start winning other trophies.

We are Arsenal and we are proud.
