All eyes were on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle the day they tied the knot in a lavish royal wedding that left the world in awe.
However, not everyone was as impressed as claims made by a friend from the Duke of Sussex’s school suggested, according to the new book, Find freedom.
Harry’s old friend from Eton had delivered a shocking verdict on the event held at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor on May 19, 2018.
Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie had written in their revealing bio about the Sussex couple that Harry had decided to snub his friend at the wedding after he had told him before the wedding that he and Meghan were moving too fast.
Detailing his friend Skippy’s reaction, the book claimed that he thought he had lost Harry to his new friends in Hollywood.
“Not everyone felt as secure in this union as Harry. A month after his own wedding, Skippy sat down with his childhood friend to express a concern: Harry and Meghan were moving too fast.”
After going unnoticed at the private reception, the authors describe how all the other A-listers arrived at the ceremony, but Skippy was not present.
“Harry’s cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, skipped the more pedestrianized walks in favor of a black Bentley. George and Amal Clooney stopped in a silver Audi,” the authors wrote.
Notably absent were Skippy, Harry’s longtime friend, who had questioned the prince’s relationship with Meghan, and his wife Lara. They were invited to the wedding ceremony and lunchtime reception, but they didn’t make the cut to tonight Party”.
“At brunch the day after the wedding, Skippy told her friends ‘Meghan has changed Harry too much.’ Her friend from Eton said the prince was in awe of people like the Clooneys and Oprahs. ‘We’ve lost it,’ ”he was quoted as saying.
