Thomas dismissed this, saying that the security features at Mokonyane’s home were installed by the government when Mokonyane was a MEC for housing in Gauteng.
Thomas said that the installation of security features at Mokonyane’s home was a joint effort between the housing department, the prime minister’s office and the police.
On Agrizzi’s claim that Bosasa delivered food packages to Mokonyane’s home in Kagiso that contained packages of braai chicken, alcohol and other items, Thomas said that these items were not for Mokonyane’s benefit.
Instead, he insisted, Bosasa’s food packages were for needy families in Kagiso.
“Food packages would be made for the Kagiso families. The numbers would vary, ”Thomas said. “We had a network of people doing community work in Kagiso, so they could identify the families most in need.”
Thomas added that sometimes Mokonyane would not be involved at all, as Bosasa’s boss, Gavin Watson and Agrizzi, communicated with her as AP, and she handled the delivery of the packages.
