DURBAN – A Westville man in Durban was killed in a home burglary.

His wife and son were also injured during the attack.

The KwaZulu-Natal police have launched an investigation into the crime.

Advanced life support paramedic Garrith Jamieson said the deceased was stabbed multiple times during the robbery Tuesday morning.

They stabilized him at the scene before going into cardiac arrest.

“Despite attempts by paramedics and doctors at the hospital, the patient succumbed to his injuries. Two other occupants of the residence suffered moderate injuries and have also been transferred by Advanced Life Support to the hospital.”

There is growing concern about safety in the West Durban suburb.

Earlier this year, the leader of the KZN Democratic Alliance, Zwakele Mncwango, narrowly survived an attempted kidnapping after five men cornered him as he entered his home.

The wife of government communicator Agiza Hlongwane was kidnapped while former eThekwini Deputy Mayor Fawzia Peer said five men sped off in a white vehicle after being spotted by security guards near her home.
