Adele’s most recent Instagram the post is getting a lot of backlash.

In the photo shared on Sunday, the singer appears to show off her figure in a bikini, stockings, and feathered wings. “Happy what would be the Notting Hill Carnival my beloved London,” he wrote.

Notting Hill Carnival is an annual event that celebrates the Caribbean and Black communities in the UK. But many pointed out that the singer’s Jamaican flag bikini, with her hair that appears to be in Bantu knots, is a cultural appropriation.

“If 2020 couldn’t be any stranger, Adele is giving us Bantu knots and cultural appropriation that no one asked for,” journalist Ernest Owens wrote in Twitter. “This officially marks all major white pop women as troublesome. I hate to see it.”

“Nobody. Absolutely not a fucking soul. Not a person. Adele,” wrote another, with the photo he shared.

But some defended the singer. To the previous comment, a fan wrote: “The Notting Hill Carnival that takes place at this time of year is a celebration of West Indies heritage in London / UK. Adele grew up in Tottenham, one of the UK’s largest Jamaican diasporas. This seems strange for Americans now offend you. “

On the Instagram post, another commented: “This is the most confusing comment section I have ever seen … Whites are NOT to use Bantu knots in any context, period.”
