JOHANNESBURG – Thousands of cyclists from across the country have gathered at Union Buildings in Pretoria to protest against farm attacks and racism in South Africa.
Under the banner, motorcyclists united against agricultural killings, horsemen have placed roses and crosses on the doors of the building, which also houses the president’s office.
The cyclists are planning a 50-kilometer circuit and will hold a prayer session for the victims of the farm killings.
Marinus Coetzee of the organization said they demanded protection from the state and assistance with security equipment.
“As a country, we are actually in a bad place with regard to racism and agricultural killings.”
According to South African statistics, 49 murders were committed on farms and smallholdings during the financial year 2019/2020.
