Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton took to Instagram to post an emotional tribute to Chadwick Boseman. The British driver hailed Boseman as a “superhero” in a moving tribute.

Boseman, who played the role of the popular Marvel character ‘Black Panther’, passed away after battling colon cancer. The American actor was 43 years old and inspired many around the world in his performances as the ‘Black Panther’ throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hamilton expressed his gratitude for meeting Boseman and signed on to a popular catchphrase from the movie Black Panther.

You were the best of us: Lewis Hamilton

“Today I woke up to the sad news, our superhero passed away. I’m devastated. I am so grateful to meet you brother. Thank you for all that you have done for us. Rest in Power King, you were the best of us and you never will be forgotten. I send love, light and prayers to you and your family. Wakanda forever “ Hamilton wrote.

Hamilton could dedicate a pole and a possible victory in memory of Boseman at this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix. With Mercedes looking stronger than ever, it is unlikely that any of F1’s rivals will actually challenge Brackley’s team in qualifying.

With F1 yet to enforce the engine mode ban and Spa-Francorchamps consisting of long straights, Mercedes has a real chance of clinching pole comfortably by quite a bit of a margin. Also, Hamilton’s only real competitor today could be his teammate, who topped the timing charts in FP1.

Weather forecasts predicted rain on Saturday and throughout the race, giving the Briton an advantage thanks to his supreme talent in treacherous conditions.

Mercedes has not won at Spa in recent times and is looking to end its relatively short period of non-dominance. With Ferrari no longer having their previously feared straight-line speed and performance, Brackley’s team has a clear path to victory.

In addition, the team manager, Toto Wolff, revealed that there were “unfinished business” in Belgium. As a result, Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton are clearly motivated to be on the top step of the podium on Sunday.
