JOHANNESBURG – Two people died Saturday and several others were injured after a fuel tanker and another truck collided and burst into flames on the N2 near Mtunzini Toll Plaza in KwaZulu-Natal.
Paramedics said the trucks caught fire and caught the drivers who were later burned to death.
“Reports from the scene indicate that two trucks, one of them a tanker carrying a flammable liquid, collided, causing both trucks to overturn and completely blocking N2. The trucks caught fire and were completely destroyed, “Netcare 911 spokesman Shawn Herbst said in a statement.
The N2 remained closed with the authorities working to remove the remains of the road.
