Users report autofocus and warm-up issues with Exynos Galaxy S20 Ultra

It seems like Samsung is having a hard time fixing lingering issues on its flagship beast. Several users on the Samsung community forums have complained that their Exynos powered Galaxy S20 Ultra suffers from autofocus and heating issues.

Some forum attendees say the phone heats up in seconds while using the camera app. Some have also reported a disappointing battery life of about 3.5-4 hours of screen time. Several users also note that they are using 4G versions, suggesting that overheating is not due to 5G connectivity.

Also, a Twitter user recently demonstrated how his Exynos Galaxy S20 Ultra continues to have autofocus issues.

The video posted by @pegasaie (h / t: WCCFTech) apparently shows that the Galaxy S20 Ultra struggles to focus on an object right in front of the camera lens. You are constantly focusing and blurring, not achieving a focus lock. You can see the video posted by the user in his embedded tweet below.

According to the user, his Galaxy S20 Ultra with the Exynos 990 chipset also has “low battery life”, “poor performance” and “heats up like hell”.

Samsung has previously faced criticism for the performance gap between Exynos-powered Galaxy phones and Snapdragon-powered variants. In fact, some users have even started an online petition to express their frustrations.
