Nelspruit – BroadReach Group technology solutions group has partnered with the Mpumalanga Health Department to deploy its Covid-19 community screening mobile app on the Vantage platform.
Over the next month, thousands of community health workers will be deployed across the province in a mass screening effort to help contain the deadly epidemic. The province has a population of approximately 4.5 million.
The Vantage mobile app enables healthcare workers to instantly enter screening data to provide real-time information to the nerve center in Mpumalanga, a data lab built by BroadReach Healthcare.
Utilizing sophisticated artificial intelligence and data analytics capabilities, Vantage will deliver real-time information to the Health Department to identify hotspots and prioritize focus for action and resource allocation.
The application is believed to play an integral role in stopping the spread of Covid-19 through a data-driven approach.
“We are next to our colleagues in Mpumalanga to control and conquer Covid-19. Vantage will help provincial leaders with real-time data to make key decisions during these critical times, ”said Chris A. LeGrand, CEO of the BroadReach Group. “It’s about having the right information at the right time, to take the right action.”
The Vantage platform is supported by the Microsoft suite of applications and is hosted in the Microsoft Azure cloud.
“Vantage’s effectiveness has been demonstrated through the dramatic success in KwaZulu-Natal province in reaching its UNAIDS HIV targets 90-90-90 in Ugu, where 90% of people living with HIV know their state, 90% receive sustained antiretroviral therapy and 90% achieve viral suppression, “BroadReach Group said in a statement.
The Health Department has named the Vantage app, Siyayinqoba Sisonke: Together we will win.
Mpumulanga Prime Minister Refilwe Mtsweni said the Vantage app is vital in the authorities’ mission to protect citizens.
“The [Vantage] The mobile app will enable clinical teams to respond faster and more accurately in our effort to safeguard our citizens. It will allow the province to have real-time information and make quick and well-informed decisions and deploy resources where they are most needed. ”
Mpumalanga is the second province in which Vantage will be operational, along with KwaZulu-Natal. In total, 4 420 Department of Health and 255 BroadReach employees have received application training to date, and training and implementation continues.
