State regional airline SA Express was placed on provisional liquidation after its business rescue professionals filed an urgent court request, a reliable source confirmed to Fin24 on Tuesday.
This occurs after practitioners filed the application in the Pretoria Superior Court on March 25.
Practitioners claim that the government deliberately withheld financial support in the amount of R350 million from the Department of Public Enterprises.
At the time of the liquidation request, the DPE had indicated that it would determine its course of action after studying the liquidation request.
