A group of men from the town of Mpheni attacked another group from the village of Nokhatshile.

The altercation is believed to have been related to the taxi industry.

“There were 12 people injured and not six injured as we initially reported. And of those 12 men, six of them were treated and discharged and we arrested those six immediately after they were discharged from the hospital, “said police spokesman Brigadier Vish Naidoo.

Another six people continued to receive medical care.

“The remaining six are currently in the hospital and we also put them under police surveillance because we feel we need to interview them and they possibly have a case to answer,” Naidoo said.
