Days before Atlantis teenager Jordan Moore’s funeral, five more men were arrested and charged with his murder.

A 22-year-old suspect was taken into custody on Tuesday and was expected to appear in Atlantis Magistrates Court once charged, Western Cape Police spokesman Capt. FC van Wyk said.

The 22-year-old’s arrest came on the same day that four others – Braswell Rolse, Preston de Bruin, Edward Sebastian and Damian Voetpad – appeared on the dock, where the case against him was postponed until November 24. to request a bond.

The four, ages 20 to 36, were arrested on Sunday.

Van Wyk confirmed that the state would challenge his bond. In this case, charges have been brought against seven suspects.

Reagan Hendricks and Jermaine Smith were the first to be arrested and charged after 16-year-old Moore was stabbed and mutilated by dogs on November 6.

Bail request

The case against Hendricks and Smith was postponed until January 22 for further investigation after they dropped their request for bail, Western Cape National Tax Authority (NPA) spokesman Eric Ntabazalila said.

They are being held in Pollsmoor Prison.

Moore, a 10th grader, was attacked in Robinvale while visiting a cousin.

His grandfather, John Hulbert, told Netwerk24 that Moore was sitting with his relative and a friend in a park when they were approached by two gunmen who threatened them and demanded that they buy them beer at a nearby shebeen.

The two had escaped unharmed after fleeing for help. Jordan was found dead when they returned.

He had reportedly been stabbed and mutilated by dogs.

His funeral will be held at Saxonsea on Saturday.
