CAPE TOWN – Five suspects have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of the late Prince Lethukuthula Zulu.
The body of the Zulu prince was found by security guards at his Northworld home earlier this month.
Since then, an initial investigation case has been changed to a murder investigation.
Four women and one man were arrested in Pretoria on Friday.
Critical evidence obtained by forensic experts led the authorities to the suspects.
During his arrest on Friday, a suspect was found in possession of illegal substances.
Police are now investigating the possibility that Zulu and his business partner may have been drugged, before money and other items were stolen from them.
Several items suspected of theft were confiscated from the homes of the suspects.
Authorities said their investigation is ongoing, which may also establish whether the suspects committed other similar crimes in which the victims were drugged and assaulted.
The suspects will appear in Randburg Magistrates Court on Monday, where they face one charge of murder and robbery.
