JOHANNESBURG – Two men were killed in a plane crash near Hilton in KwaZulu-Natal this afternoon.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet clear, but it is understood that the accident took place moments after takeoff.
Paramedics arrived at the crash site to find the couple believed to be the pilot and a passenger already dead.
The plane was heading to the Umkomaas airfield, which is located along the southern coast.
Officials from the South African Civil Aviation Authority combed the scene for more details.
Kabelo Ledwaba of the authority said: “We will continue on the site and the scope of the investigation could take time to complete.”
