JOHANNESBURG – One hundred and eighty-four more people have died in South Africa after contracting the coronavirus.
These latest confirmed deaths overnight bring the death toll in the country to 24,011.
The Health Department said it also detected 9,126 new infections in the past 24 hours.

They have increased the number of known cases since the outbreak began to just under 893,000.
Gauteng still accounts for the majority of these infections, followed by the Western Cape and then the Eastern Cape.
So far, more than 780,000 people have been recovered.
