JOHANNESBURG – An internal document released by the National Tax Authority (NPA) to reporters who were in court on Tuesday revealed details regarding the five suspects arrested for the murder of soccer player Senzo Meyiwa.

Meyiwa was killed in 2014 while visiting the home of his girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo, in Vosloorus.

The document citing Khumalo was posted on the police media group, but its removal was later requested. In the indictment issued by the NPA, Khumalo’s name appears on the death of her son’s father.

Some of the details of the investigative document included allegations by a defendant, which are consistent with the facts of the case.

Additionally, the NPA wanted an explanation as to why EMPD officials transported the five accused suspects for confession and not to the South African Police Service.

The charge sheet also reveals that defendant number five contacted Khumalo by telephone and that it was mentioned that there was a lender who gave Khumalo money to “apparently pay hitmen and that this lender was pestering her about the payment of this loan.” .

The Meyiwa murder case was postponed until November 27.

Talking to Eyewitness newsMeyiwa’s brother Sifiso said he was happy that they were finally getting to something with the case: “We are happy that the case is now in court; it means the work is finally beginning, but there is still a lot to do. If they were sent, we want to know why. ”

SUSPECTED SAY THEY ARE INNOCENT

The five men arrested in connection with Meyiwa’s murder early Tuesday refused to enter the pier.

They were ushered into the courtroom but refused to comply, arguing that they did not commit the crime and that the police were using them to protect those actually responsible for Meyiwa’s murder.

One of the suspects claimed they were arrested in August, while another told the court that they wanted the media present to capture what he called the crime in this murder case.

Defendant number four said he did not see the need for a lawyer because he did not kill Captain Bafana.

The suspects have been named as pregnant Muzikawuk S’themba Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Ziphozonke Maphosa, Sifokuhle Nkani Ntuli.

They were charged with murder, attempted murder and aggravated robbery.

The State also wants to acquire the telephone records of all the accused before and after the murder.

Police announced Monday that they had finally made a breakthrough six years after the soccer player was shot and killed in Vosloorus.
