Cody Rhodes sat down for a Q&A host with Tony Schiavone. The main topic was the defense of Cody’s TNT Championship against Scorpio Sky. A few interesting nuggets were also revealed.
Other names on Cody’s open challenge radar include Alexander Hammerstone, Sefa Fatu, Matt Sydal, and JTG. Cody also announced that the finished TNT championship belt will debut tonight.
Hammerstone would be great to answer the call, but I strongly doubt this will happen. As National Champion for Openweight, MLW is building itself as a future big money contender for Jacob Fatu and her World Heavyweight Championship. It has potential to be a PPV main event. A loss for Cody would not look good for the MLW product.
Sydal and JTG would be clean blushes from the past. Sydal is better known as Evan Bourne of WWE. Thinking about Sydal’s style reminded me of Matt Cross (aka Lucha Underground’s Son of Havoc). Cross is another name I would like to see Cody on wrestle Dynamite.

“Malfunction” – Being The Elite, Ep. 216 (here) featured:
- It’s Thursday 13:30 west coast time. Matt Jackson thought that meant it was time for a tandem bike ride. That’s something I actually wanted to see on BTE. Nick Jackson informed Matt that it was time for the rating report. They had a good overall number, but they did not win the key 50+ demo. Matt was out of ideas, so Nick provided inspiration with a match against local workers. Matt came up with how a picture would hang directly on the wall.
- Brandon Cutler told the Bucks that he witnessed a murder last week when the Best Friends and Orange killed Cassidy Colt Cabana. The Bucks thought it was all in Cutler’s head.
- After Sammy Guevara put Matt Hardy open last week Dynamite, Hardy needed nine pieces. He talked to the Bucks and transitioned through his different personas. Hardy claimed he was fine.
- Marko Stunt was driven by a candy trail to the recruiting site of Dark Order sucker by Alex Reynolds and John Silver. Luchasaurus prevented Marko from drinking the Kool-Aid.
- Angelico and Jack Evans are on their comeback tour to prove they are the greatest. Evans ate empanadas while speaking with illustrative alliteration.
- Speaking, Santana and Ortiz proved the word chism (gossip). Ortiz shared a juicy piece of news with Santana, then Santana barked about it. The chism eventually went around the locker room. Marko Stunt was angry and thought the chism was about him. His long speech was blushing.
- Mr. Brodie Lee celebrated the victory of the Dark Order with Stu Grayon and Evil Uno. Mr. Brodie was frustrated that Reynolds and Silver lost, so he handed over the honor of paper for Evil Uno to exchange Silver.
- Christopher Daniels’ idea for the 50+ demo was an infomercial. He promoted copper coins (pens) for $ 1 each with BrizzBrazz Capital at www.BrizzBrazz.con, with the n for con.
- Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, and the Bucks complained about jobbing. Kenny was embarrassed by loss to the Dark Order. They turned on the TV to see that the Dark Order had taken their commercial opportunity for Chile’s baby ribs. Everyone was crazy about Matt for blowing up.
There are two things that can happen before Dynamite. At first, Hardy changes characters unconsciously, but I think he will probably play it right before his feud with Sammy. Second is discussion in Kenny’s concluding scene which is a comedy as opposed to The Cleaner. Omega’s anger builds, so don’t be surprised if The Cleaner returns soon.
