Stu Grayson and Evil One from The Dark Order finally came together for a massive championship opportunity when they challenged Kenny Omega and Hangman Page for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. It is worth noting the first appearance of Anna Jay with the enigmatic heel faction, however brief it may have been.

Page jumped on Uno and Grayson at the doorbell, forcing Omega to rush their entry and back him up. Tension reigned among the babyfaces when referee Rick Knox rang the bell.

The champions outplayed the opposition early, but Evil Uno toppled Page and took control of the match, using joint manipulation while aiming for Hangman’s big right hand. The heels cut through the ring and isolated Page from his partner in the commercial cut.

During the break, Omega participated in the match and sparked a comeback from Babyface while Brodie Lee watched Colt Cabana in the comments. Page’s hard right hand led Uno into the waiting arms of Omega, who dropped him with a German Suplex.

At one point, Omega sent Grayson to the corner, but instead, he rose above the ring post and toward Page. One took advantage of Omega’s disbelief and almost won. A corner cannonball from Uno and 450 splash from Grayson almost earned the heels of the titles.

Omega responded with a quick dragon to One and Page erased Grayson with a ruckus. The Buckshot Lariat / V-Trigger combination earned the champions victory.

After the game, Lee ordered Cabana and Anna Jay to back off before reprimanding and verbally attacking Uno and Grayson.

Lee said The Dark Order has strength in numbers and Page has pissed him off for the last time. Dark Order minions surrounded the ring, but The Young Bucks and FTR joined the champions for a fight with the wicked. The babyfaces cleared the ring, leaving Lee sarcastically thanking Omega for “showing up.”

Outcome

Page and Omega defeated The Dark Order

Degree

yes

Analysis

This was quite possibly the best that Grayson and Uno have seen on AEW.

They were sharp, shone against the champions, and silenced many skeptics about their real ring abilities.

Winning Page and Omega was the right decision, especially if he pushes Lee further into despair. However, the Dark Order was not yet reigning Wednesday night, a problem for a group that we are supposed to believe is this enormously dangerous entity in AEW.

Once they pick up that defining victory, they will be a force to be reckoned with. After all, they have a really solid core with Uno, Grayson, Jay, and Lee. Add associate Colt Cabana and there’s a lot to like about what Tony Khan and AEW management are putting together.

Take off your training wheels and let them win a game and your credibility would improve exponentially.

The subtle and not-so-subtle teasing of the renewed tension between Page and Omega was well done and again makes fans think a breakup is on the horizon.
