The Emmy-winning activist and filmmaker said she was “incredibly concerned” about the possible flood of infections that could result from such a move.

Abigail Disney returned to look for the company her grandfather helped found on Wednesday, saying The Walt Disney Co. was acting irresponsibly by reopening its theme parks while the new coronavirus pandemic remains rampant.

Noting that she has no stake in the conglomerate, Roy Oliver Disney’s granddaughter said she feared both guests and park staff during an appearance on Yahoo Finance. The first trade.

“It is strange to me that they would enter this situation by opening this massive company that people fly from all over the world to go,” said Disney, referring specifically to Walt Disney World in Florida, which reopened entirely on Wednesday as the El state has exceeded 300,000 confirmed virus cases.

The Emmy-winning activist and filmmaker said she was “incredibly concerned” about the possible flood of infections that could result from such a move. “I can’t imagine they can protect their employees and all of their clients,” said the heiress.

For its part, the company has introduced numerous health and safety measures in each park reopened around the world, which includes a mask and temperature control requirement, in addition to greater cleaning of the tourist centers. Still, the company makes clear on each individual park’s website that guests assume all risks of possible infection when visiting destinations.

As it has done numerous times before, Disney also criticized the company for its high-paid executives compared to low-paid park employees, who noted that they are on the front line of possible exposure.

“I will say that I do not know how a person sleeps at night given what we know to be, and they know perfectly well, what is the condition of their workers and the insecurity in which they live now,” he told Yahoo. “Two of the three people with that I’ve been talking about in Anaheim [park] They have asthma and seriously have no idea how they are going to approach this decision, even if they are offered their position again. So I must say that preserving your bond, as they did, was outrageous. It just doesn’t make sense, as far as I’m concerned. ”

Along with the total reopening of Walt Disney World this week, a part of Disneyland Paris reopened its doors while, at the same time, Hong Kong Disneyland closed again due to the increase in the number of virus cases in China.
