A West Virginia child is accused of killing four family members

A teenager in West Virginia has been charged with the murder of two boys and their parents inside their home, officials said.

An unidentified man, a woman and their two sons, ages 3 and 12, were found dead with gunshot wounds in a house in Elkview around 10:40 a.m. Sunday, WV Metro News reported.

Officials said a relative went home to investigate the family after not being heard from the house for days.

When he arrived, he saw the front door unlocked and three people died, the news station WSAZ reported.

Respondents were told by the outlet that a fourth victim had been killed.

“We immediately determined on the arrival of the deputies that they were all dead,” Kanawaha County Sheriff Mike Rutherford told WV Metro News.

Rutherford said a fifth member of the family – a teenage boy – was found safe at the scene. He has spoken to officials.

A teenager has been charged with murder in connection with a serious murder, although it is unclear whether the child has any connection to the victims.
