A ring with 12,638 diamonds sets a Guinness World Record


How many diamonds can fit in one ring?

The answer is 12,638, according to a new Guinness World Record book.

Harshit Bansal, founder of Renaani Jewels in Meerut, India, set the record on December 21, 2020 with his impressive design.

The ring weighs a little over 165 grams or 5.8 ounces.

According to Guinness, the ring called Marigold, or “Ring of Prosperity” is a circular band with a decorative floral design, complete with thousands of 38.08 carat natural diamonds, according to Guinness. The ring weighs a little over 165 grams or 5.8 ounces.

The previous record – 7,801 diamonds in a ring – was also set by Hyderabad-based jeweler Hallmark Jewelers in India.

Bansal told Guinness that he was first inspired to break a record filled with diamonds in 2018 while studying jewelery design in Surat, India. Two years later, his company completed the ring design on November 30, 2020.
