The results of the local elections in Namibia are drawing more attention from the borders of the African nation because of the name of the winner: Adolf Hitler Unona.
Unina was elected as a councilor in the Ombunda constituency, located in the Osha region in the northern part of Namibia, winning by about 85%. In an interview with the German newspaper Bild, Unona said she had no connection to the infamous Nazi dictator with whom she shares her name.
“It was a fairly common name for me as a child. I didn’t realize it until I was growing up: this man wanted to control the whole world. I don’t want to take any of this.” “My father named me after this man. He probably didn’t understand what Adolf Hitler was.”
“Just because I have this name doesn’t mean I want to subdue Oceana now,” Unona joked. “That doesn’t mean I’m striving for world domination.”
Uno goes public with “Adolf Unona”, saying it is “too late” to change his name because he is on “all official documents”.

The UN is not the first person to name a Nazi leader with political ambitions. A man named Adolf Lu Hitler caught my attention back in 2001 when he took office in the Indian state of Meghalaya.
“I knew at the time that Adolf Hitler was the most hated person on earth for the genocide of the Jews. But my father added a ‘loo’ in between, named Adolf Lou Hitler, and that’s why I’m different,” Hitler told the Associated Press at the time.
