Images of what appears to be an officially licensed LEGO replica of Nintendo’s entertainment system have surfaced online, with leaked information suggesting that the set will launch for retail sale as soon as next month.
The leak comes courtesy of the Chinese gaming website VJGamer, which has secured a series of images from the upcoming LEGO set, along with first information about its upcoming release.
According to the source, the LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System will launch on August 1 for € 229.99 (other regional pricing needs to be confirmed) and contains 2,646 pieces for customers to recreate the Nintendo 80 game system in LEGO form.
The set features a replica of the famous console, along with its controller, a Super Mario Bros. game cartridge, and even an upgradeable retro TV that shows off the platformer itself. The product is also apparently compatible with recently released LEGO Mario sets that ushered in the toy company’s official partnership with Nintendo.
It’s unclear when Nintendo and LEGO intend to officially announce the product, and while the photos included make it look very real, we can’t confirm its veracity until they do. Still, with the release date of August 1, it surely won’t be long before full disclosure takes place, so stay tuned to GamesRadar + for more information as it arrives.
