A coronavirus patient attempted to board a flight to Florida at Maine Airport

A man who tested positive for coronavirus last week tried to board a flight from Florida at an airport in Maine on Sunday – but was stopped by public health officials.

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Monday it contacted the man at Portland International Jet Airport and assured him to stay off the flight.

They said in a statement that Maine CDC staff had a conversation with a person with COVID-19, who then chose not to board the plane.

Another person traveling with the coronavirus patient was aboard the plane, but was later removed, the agency said.

The person who tested positive went back to solitude like the person traveling with them, but it is unclear whether they are infected with the virus.

The Maine CDC warned passengers and workers at the airport between 12:30 pm and 4pm on Sunday that they had been infected with the coronavirus.

Researchers have found that flight from coronavirus can lead to clusters of errors.

A new study in the Journal of Emerging Infectious Diseases has found that a sick airline passenger on a March flight from London to Vietnam spread the coronavirus.
