As the US reopens, the coronavirus takes advantage of new opportunities to spread.
As of Thursday, at least 29 states are seeing increases in daily coronavirus cases. The slopes are particularly steep in several southern states, including Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas. Many report more cases than they have seen daily.
