A full 30 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay has somehow made it onto the network. The footage first appeared on YouTube before Ubisoft quickly removed it. Since then, it has been reloaded multiple times, but the editor is pushing for all of these videos to be removed. As such, we don’t have an embedded video for you, but if you want to see the game for yourself, your best bet is probably this Reddit thread.
In any case, we will do our best to describe what we saw. For starters, this footage is taken from an earlier version of the upcoming open world. Animations are weightless, sound effects are missing, and everything feels a little out of place. Overall, though, it looks a lot like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
The gameplay shows the main character Eivor traveling across the field before undertaking a mission in which he attacks a fort with a small army. Eivor wields an ax in each hand and can throw them at enemies. You also have access to a bunch of special abilities, present in the bottom left of the screen, which are assigned to different buttons just like in Odyssey.
It’s hard to really take too away from this footage, especially since the player doesn’t seem to be very familiar with how things work, but it’s still a pretty significant leak. We look forward to an official look at Valhalla very soon, at the Ubisoft digital event on July 12.
