No wonder, but the Emmys 2020 are going virtual.
Shortly after the nominations were announced yesterday, this year’s Emmy executive producers, including host Jimmy Kimmel, sent a letter to top acting nominees informing them that this year’s ceremony will be virtual and asking them to prepare for participate from home, or wherever you want to be – be.
“As you probably guessed, we are not going to ask you to come to the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles on September 20,” the letter says, in part. “This year, it will continue to be the biggest night in the television industry … but we will come after you!”
Details are yet to come, but the letter says: “We are assembling a top-notch team of technicians, producers and writers to work closely with Jimmy Kimmel and you and your team, to make sure we can film with you ( and your loved ones) or anyone else you choose to be with) in your home or other location of your choice. We will make it look fabulous: we are exploring the latest technology to enable the use of good cameras and lighting and look forward to working with you to produce your unique ‘on-screen’ moments. “
The letter was signed by Kimmel, as well as other EPs Reggie Hudlin and Ian Stewart, Guy Carrington and David Jammy from television producer Done + Dusted.
Producers of the broadcast are still analyzing details, including which elements will be live or whether the winners will be informed in advance. He shared inside information: “As ABC and the Television Academy continue to formulate plans for the Emmy television broadcast, the producers have taken the proactive step of communicating with some nominees to inform them of their intention to offer a live program that is to both festive and safe. “

So what are you wearing Our casual theme for the evening is “Come as you are, but make an effort!”
If you want to wear formal wear, we’d love to, but still if you’re in the UK and it’s 3am, you might want to be in designer pajamas and record from your bed! We want to work with you to design your moments, but we want you to guide us in your comfort levels: where you want to be, who you want to be with, what you want to wear, etc.
