1,721 new Idaho Seaweed-19 cases, 23 new deaths


Idaho Falls, Idaho (KIPI / KIDK) – Idaho officials on Thursday reported 1,721 new Covid-19 cases and 23 new deaths.

That brings the total confirmed and probable cases reported since March to 106,455.

Idaho has a total of 89,739 confirmed cases and 16,716 potential cases in all 44 of the 44 counties, according to figures released from local health districts and the state. See chart below.

SIPHA has also confirmed three deaths due to COVID-19. You can see more here.

The SIP Covid-19 risk level monitor has four categories: minimal, medium, high and complex. Bangkok, Bear Lake, Bingham, Butty, Carabou, Franklin, Vanida and Power are all in the high risk category.

Eastern Idaho Public Health reported 237 new cases Thursday. There are 113 new cases in Bonneville, 1 in Clark, 1 in Custer, 6 in Fremont, 36 in Jefferson, 4 in Lemmy, 66 in Madison and 10 in Teton. The EIPH COVID-19 risk level monitor has four categories: minimum, medium, high and complex. Bonneville and Madison are in the risky category. Jefferson, Fremont, Lamy and Teton are in the high risk category. Custer is in the middle risk category. Clark is in the minimal risk category.

The EIPH covers Bonnville, Clark, Custer, Fremont, Jefferson, Lamy, Madison and Teton counties.

The hotspots so far this week are Canyon County, Ada County, Kutenai County, Bonneville County and Bannok County.

The state reports that there are an estimated 42,274 recovered COVID-19 cases.

The average age of Idahons with COVID-19 is 40.0 years and ranges from 1 to 100 years. The data excludes 49 individuals of unknown age.

The age group with most cases is 18-29 with 27-250 cases.

The state said 71 new hospital admissions have been registered bringing the total number to 4,271, and 11 new cases have been admitted to the ICU bringing the total to 791.

There are 5,290 asymptomatic reported cases and 5,304 cases among health care workers.

The 23 newly reported deaths have been brought to 1,014.

State officials say deaths by age group are falling apart as follows.

  • 2 deaths between 18 and 29 years
  • Six people died between the ages of 30 and 39
  • 21 people died between the ages of 40 and 49
  • The 37 people who died were between the ages of 50 and 59
  • 129 people ranged in age from 60 to 69 years
  • 277 people ranged in age from 70 to 79 years
  • 542 people were 80+

95.0% of deaths with the known race were white. 0.9% of deaths with the known race were Asian. 0.7% of deaths with the known race were Black or African American, 1.8% were American Indian / Alaska Native, and 1.60% were “other race / multiple races.” Race category for 12 deaths pending.

88.13% of deaths with the known race were non-Hispanic. 10.87% of deaths with known ethnicity were Hispanic. Ethnicity remains for 11 deaths.
